What you'll do

As Business Controller – Logistics you will play a pivotal role in transforming the regional finance function through technology enablement and commercial insight. Your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around building scalable data models in Power BI from scratch; designing automated ETL pipelines using Power Query; configuring workflows across multiple enterprise platforms; developing customer-level profitability analysis; partnering with operational teams to challenge cost overruns; optimising processes for efficiency; troubleshooting system issues; supporting ad-hoc strategic projects; training colleagues on new tools; writing SOPs; and acting as the go-to resource for all things related to finance systems implementation. Success in this role requires you to be comfortable managing parallel workstreams during system go-lives while maintaining high standards of data accuracy. You will collaborate closely with both finance leadership and operational stakeholders across Dubai HQ as well as other stations in the GCC region. Your ability to connect technology with commercial outcomes will be critical as you help drive growth ambitions throughout the region.

• Lead the configuration, implementation, and optimisation of over ten finance and operational systems across freight forwarding and contract logistics stations in the Middle East.
• Build robust data infrastructure using Power BI dashboards, automated pipelines, Power Query transformations, and M code to convert raw operational data into actionable profitability insights by customer, lane, and product.
• Develop customer-level P&L reporting and own revenue and margin analysis that informs commercial decisions such as budgeting and forecasting from a business perspective.
• Configure system workflows including approval matrices, user permissions, data mappings, AP automation flows, template training for invoice OCR tools, expense policy routing, dashboard refresh triggers, notifications, and integration mapping.

What you bring

To excel as Business Controller – Logistics you will bring substantial experience gained within finance functions of international logistics providers or supply chain organisations operating across multiple jurisdictions. Your expertise spans both commercial analysis (FP&A) and hands-on systems implementation/configuration—enabling you to bridge the gap between technology solutions and business outcomes. You are highly skilled at building Power BI dashboards from raw data sources using advanced DAX measures and Power Query transformations. You routinely write/debug M code scripts for ETL pipelines. Your Excel abilities extend beyond basic formulas into VBA macro development/dynamic arrays/complex modelling. You have personally led major system rollouts (ERP/TMS/treasury/document management) where your input shaped workflow design/user permissions/data mapping/AP automation/integration setup. You understand how freight forwarding P&Ls operate—including buy/sell rate dynamics/co-loader margins/shipment costing/storage economics—and can translate these insights into actionable recommendations for operational teams. Your process improvement mindset means you naturally spot inefficiencies/redesign workflows proactively. You are comfortable training non-technical colleagues/writing SOPs/supporting any project required by senior leadership—even under parallel workstreams during busy periods.
