As an Aerospace Operational Care Expert, you will ensure the flawless coordination of time‑critical airlogistics shipments, meeting strict customer transit time and quality requirements. You will be part of our Operational Care Center team, responsible for managing end‑to‑end transport activities - from securing bookings with carriers and gateways to generating documentation and monitoring shipments through final delivery.
You will work closely with our Customer Care Specialists to align on customer‑specific needs such as transit times, routing, and carrier selection. A key part of your role is securing buy rates and capacity with qualified partners to guarantee smooth operational execution.
When supporting aerospace‑specific verticals such as AOG or engine logistics, your responsibilities will expand to include spot quoting, customer coordination, and full shipment ownership from start to finish.
All activities must be carried out in full compliance with air transport regulations, industry standards, and KN operational guidelines, using Kuehne+Nagel's operational systems to ensure accuracy, transparency, and operational excellence
How you create impact
- Proven ability to manage and execute operational activities with accuracy, reliability, and on‑time performance, ensuring minimal overdue tasks and adherence to customer deliverables.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow structured communication concepts and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in shipment monitoring, deviation handling, and providing timely, accurate updates in operational systems, including cost‑related financial visibility.
- Capability to review, interpret, and clarify Customer Care Location (CCL) instructions, identifying and resolving discrepancies related to regulations, routing, transit times, or rate information.
- Proactive mindset in identifying and reporting operational issues, disputes, or irregularities to supervisors or management.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills across partners, suppliers, gateways, warehouses, customs teams, RCC, and other relevant parties to ensure seamless operational flow.
- Ability to assess and monitor carrier and partner performance, escalating concerns when commitments or service levels are not met, while supporting process optimization and system automation initiatives.
- Experience in cost optimization, process improvement, and supporting specialized aerospace movements (AOG, Engines, verticals), including spot quoting and end‑to‑end shipment coordination.
