Role Description The Air Freight Pricing Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role is responsible for preparing and updating air freight rate quotations, coordinating with airlines and agents to secure competitive pricing, and maintaining pricing databases for various trade lanes. The Air Freight Pricing Officer analyzes market rates, customer requirements, and operational costs to develop accurate and profitable pricing proposals. Daily tasks include responding to pricing inquiries, supporting the sales team with tailored quotes, monitoring validity periods and surcharges, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry regulations. The role also involves collaborating with operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth execution of awarded business and continuous optimization of pricing strategies.
Qualifications
- Experience in air freight pricing, freight forwarding, or logistics, with strong knowledge of airline rate structures and cargo handling processes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to coordinate with carriers, agents, and internal stakeholders for competitive and reliable rates.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple quotations, deadlines, and pricing updates accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, prioritizing tasks and maintaining high accuracy under time pressure.
- Good understanding of international trade terms (Incoterms), basic customs and regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field; professional certifications in logistics are an advantage.
- Prior experience in the GCC or regional air freight markets is beneficial; proficiency in English is required, and additional languages are a plus.
